Technical data sheet

Conditions and technical needs depend of:

·the kind of shadow projection method,

·the place of the performance and its own technical possibilities,

·the type of transport used by the company

These conditions are to be defined on a case to case basis

Below are described the different possibilities

1.Kind of shadow projection

ØTypical shadow projection : shadow screen90cm by 60cm

Screen inserted into a “castelet(see photo)
Dimensions of the castelet: width 2m50, height 2m90, depth 2m50
Maximal audience: 150 to 200 people according the room disposition
First row: at 1m50 from the castelet
Set up time: 60 minutes – Dismantling time: 20 minutes

ØProjection standard simplified : shadow screen 90cm by 60cm

Screen directly installed on a table (see photo)
Dimensions: width 2m25, height 2m, depth 2m50
Maximal audience: 100 to 150 people according the room disposition
First row: at 1m from the screen
Set up time: 30 minutes – Dismantling time: 10 minutes

ØProjection on extended screen : shadow screen 180cm by 120cm écran

Screen inserted into a “castelet(see photo)
Projection surface 4 times larger than the standard device
(see principle)
Dimensions of the castelet: width 4m, height 3m, depth 3m
Maximal audience: 300 to 400 people according the room disposition
First row: at 2m50 from the screen
Set up time: 90 minutes – Dismantling time: 30 minutes

ØDirect projection on any type of surface

Direct shadow projection can be performed on any type of surface such as movies screen,
façade
(see photo), walls or even walls cave!
Shadow cast can then be very large
Maximal audience: no limit
Set up time: depend of the place configuration

2.Sound system

ØUsing of the company own sound system

If the company can travel by car, we can use our own sound system, so we are autonomous

ØUsing of the performance room sound system

If the company cannot travel by car (for example when the travel is by plane) or if the local sound system allows it, the company will use the organizer’s system

The company’s mixer table, located on stage, will be connected to the local sound system under the responsibility of the local technical manager

The outputs of the company’s mixer table are Jack 6.35 or RCA connectors

3.Light system

ØUsing of the company own light system

If the company can travel by car, we can use our own light system, so we are autonomous

ØUsing of the performance room light system

If the company cannot travel by car (for example when the travel is by plane) or if the local light system allows it, the company will use the organizer’s system

The castelet should be illuminated with a set of front projectors with warm color filters (yellow-orange). The setting of these lights is the responsibility of the light manager of the place

If a light remote console cannot be set on stage, the monitoring of the lights should be conducted by the light manager of the place. Instructions will be given directly on place

4.Technical needs

ØObscurity

A good obscurity is necessary in case of standard shadow cast, no light coming from our back is allowed

An absolute obscurity is necessary when the extended screen is used or in case of direct projection on any type of surface

ØElectricity

Electrical power 220V 16A

Standard CEE 7/7 connector on stage

ØFurniture

Tables are necessary, 3 to 5 according their dimensions

A ladder (3 or 5 steps)

ØCatering

Water and snickers would be appreciated

5.Setting and dismantling times

ØSetting

The setting time depends of the type of projection chosen and if the local sound and light system are used or not. To that we have to take into account a time for relaxing. So the setting time can be from 30 minutes up to 2 hours

If the travel is done by airplane, an additional time on 1 hour is necessary to build the castelet

If needed, most of the setting time can be done backstage if enough room is available. The setting time on stage can be reduced to around 20 minutes

ØDismantling

The dismantling time depends of the type of projection chosen and if the local sound and light system are used or not. So this time can be from 10 minutes up to 45 minutes

If the travel is done by airplane, an additional time of 1 hour is necessary to dismount the castelet and pack.

If needed, most of the dismantling time can be done backstage if enough room is available. The setting time on stage can be reduced to around 10 minutes
